This website has the purpose of me putting into practice my skills of data managing real data and turning it into decision making.
The focus for now is not the functionality of the website. The focus is to use the right data for the user, removing distractions and gaining focus.
This website has 3 main programming parts.
- The data scraping and treatment. The data collection is from the website flashscore with data scraping using selenium.
- I do all of the calculation manually. For example when it says "Last_4_games_classification", it goes thru a function that I made. It goes for the last 4 results, checks the classification and does an average.
- The data is stored in SQL in a server. For now the data is always deleted and replaced for new information. This works because there is not a lot of data, but in the future I need a new solution.
- Most of what we see is made with PHP (the table) and is using DataTables + Chart.js for filters and graphs.
I have a lot of plans for this project. Mostly because if I can read through the unpredictability of football data and challenge myself to use the right data, setting the user in the right decision, I know
that I can use this skillset to help companies in many areas to do the same.
